Degenerative-dystrophic changes develop along with arthrosis, which causes deformation and destruction of joint tissues. Let’s take a closer look at what the degree of this disease is, what the symptoms are, what diet to follow, and also how to treat hip arthritis.
Why the disease develops
Arthrosis develops due to such situations:
- in case of joint damage;
- People are overweight;
- hip joint suffers from excessive stress due to work peculiarities;
- Congenital malformations of the joints;
- When joints are inflamed;
- When hormonal changes occur in the body;
- When the bone is destroyed.
Symptoms of joint arthrosis
Symptoms of hip arthrosis are different for each degree of disease:
- In the first degree of arthrosis, there is recurrent pain in the hip joint after physical activity. After resting, they quickly disappear;
- In second degree arthrosis, the pain intensifies and becomes systematic. The person limps while walking. The muscles that are responsible for the motor function of the thigh are weakened. Occasionally radiographs may show cysts in the area of the joint;
- In third degree arthrosis, the patient feels severe pain even when lying in the joints. He can not walk without a cane. The joint is not functional. Walking changes a lot.
To understand the extent of the disease, the doctor should conduct a thorough examination of the patient and schedule an X-ray. You will also need to do an ultrasound and arthroscopy of the affected joint.
What is deforming arthrosis
In addition to normal osteoarthritis, deforming arthrosis of the hip joint, also known as coxarthrosis, is common. Joint cartilage becomes thin due to overuse and loses its function. Coxarthrosis of the hip joint develops, as well as arthrosis due to injuries, microcephaly, overload of the joints, excess weight, prolonged stress, hormonal disorders, inflammation of the joints, congenital anomalies of the thigh.Treatment of diseases of the hip joint
After careful examination and research results of the patient, an experienced specialist understands how to treat osteoarthritis of the hip joint.

Conservative therapy is important in relieving pain, increasing joint mobility, improving cartilage nutrition, reducing joint pressure, activating blood circulation in it, and strengthening surrounding tissues and muscles.
Treatment of osteoarthritis of the hip joint with medication is based on the use of vasodilators, muscle relaxants, chondroprotectors, as well as the use of ointments, gels and creams.
In addition, the first two degrees of osteoarthritis are treated with manual therapy, herbal medicine, physiotherapy, reflexology and gymnastics.
If a patient is diagnosed with third-degree osteoarthritis, surgery is performed to replace the joint with an endoprosthesis. During this operation, a prosthesis is implanted in the femur and pelvic bones. The patient will need a long rehabilitation period after surgery.
Important moment!Treatment of first and second degree hip arthrosis should be comprehensive. Any method of treatment will not bring the expected results.
It is useful to massage the joint pain. After complete elimination of acute pain sensations, massage is recommended. After the operation, massage therapy can be performed only after the sutures are removed. In this case, the massage should be done only by a specialist, independent actions are strictly contraindicated.
Traditional medicine in the treatment of osteoarthritis
In the early stages of osteoarthritis, it is important to restore the motor function of the joint, as well as to minimize its load. It is necessary to treat osteoarthritis with folk remedies under the supervision of a physician, be sure to take into account the characteristics of the disease.
Treatment of osteoarthritis with folk remedies:
- Pour boiling water over onion leaves and wrap in a pudding dish. The chilled plant is applied to the painful joint;
- Make compresses alternately from white and blue clay. For this it is necessary to dilute the clay slightly with water and achieve a uniform consistency with which the painful joints are lubricated. Cover the top with foil and a warm cloth. Keep overnight. The sutra is washed;
- It is useful to do a healing massage with honey to improve the production of intra-articular fluid and to activate the healing processes. For such treatment with folk remedies honey is heated and melted in a water bath. The joint itself is heated by a heating pad. The honey is washed in a circular motion. The duration of the massage is not more than 15 minutes. After the procedure, the joint is wrapped in gas in four layers and insulated with a cloth for three hours. After a while, the honey should be rinsed with warm water. The course of treatment is 10 times. The first three massages are performed daily, and the subsequent massages every other day;
- Pour 200 grams of chopped larnax roots in boiling water (10 liters). Bath for 10 minutes;
- Folk remedies have proven the following recipe for treating osteoarthritis. Grind the cabbage leaves a little and brush with buckwheat honey. Apply to sore joint and insulate with foil and cloth. Compression should be done overnight;
- Pour celandine leaves (8 tablespoons) with olive oil (1 liter). Close with a tight lid, keep it in a warm place for 14 days. Then strain and use to attract joints and massage;
- Grind the barberry root. Mix it with honey and drink a tablespoon three times a day before meals;
- Celery (250 grams) should be mixed with lemon (150 grams) and garlic (125 grams). Put the resulting mixture in a jar and pour boiling water (3 liters). Leave the product until a warm morning. Drink 70 grams 30 minutes before eating. You should drink no more than three three-liter jars of tincture per course. Consult your doctor before taking such medication;
- Mix pork fat (300 grams) with white brion (200 grams). Put the mixture on the fire for five minutes. Cool. Rub the obtained ointment on sore joints. Be sure to wrap the top with a warm cloth. The procedure is performed at night. The ointment should be stored in a cool place;

It is important to eat enough healthy foods while not eating excessively, but to clearly control what and how much you eat during the day.
Prevention of osteoarthritis
Any disease is better than cured. Therefore, it is recommended to take preventive measures to help develop osteoarthritis:
- Newborns should be carefully examined by an orthopedist or surgeon. Whereas the sooner congenital hip dislocation is detected, the faster and more effectively it can be cured;
- At the first call of the disease it is necessary to visit a doctor immediately and undergo all examinations to diagnose osteoarthritis as soon as possible and start treatment;
- active lifestyle;
- In addition to a balanced diet, it is important to take dietary supplements that contain collagen. It is this component that acts on the articular cartilage and restores the articular-ligature apparatus.
Now you know what hip arthrosis is, what its quality is and what its main symptoms are. At the first suspicion of osteoarthritis it is necessary to consult a doctor to begin timely and effective treatment.
